Hello Tiger family!
My name is Ivette Munoz. I am honored to be the Principal of 153rd Street Elementary
and Dual Language School. This is my 18th year with LAUSD as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and district administrator. Elementary school is where a child’s academic foundation is built. High quality instruction is essential in preparing our children to be leaders throughout their education. I am committed to ensuring that your children are active learners by providing quality instruction and learning experiences that are innovative and ignites their curiosity while helping them grow socially. Our exceptional teachers and staff strive to create a supportive and academically rigorous learning environment to help students achieve their potential. I am dedicated and determined to do whatever it takes to make sure our students and staff are successful. My belief is that we will shape our students into global citizens ready to embrace opportunities for continuous growth and leadership wherever they go!
School and home share the responsibility of educating children. Your active involvement and participation in your child’s education is pivotal to having a successful school year. Please ensure your child attends school every day, is on time and is present for the entire school day. We offer various levels of communication to keep you updated on the school’s instructional program and your child’s educational progress.
